A glass furnace holds a pool of molten glass in which the artist dips a steel rod or hollow blowpipe to form a hot gather. Glass is then shaped with various tools, air and gravity to form the final piece.
Often referred to as lampworking, students will learn to use a hot torch, or "lamp" for working glass rods and tubes into solid and hollow pieces.
Layer and arrange glass into various designs, then fire finished pieces in a kiln to fuse the pieces together. Slumping is the process of melting glass over molds to form a final shape.
Private classes available for individuals, small or large groups. On-site demos for special events, weddings, grand-openings, team-building events, and more!
